Garden Maintenance
A clean, well-tended environment is the best way to ensure the health of your garden. Monitoring and preventive maintenance for insect pests and diseases, along with proper fertilization and soil enrichment, will give your landscape the best chance to grow and be beautiful to its maximum potential.
Pruning should be practiced throughout the life of your woody plants.

Young trees & shrubs: pruning provides structure and directs growth.

Mature woody plants: benefits include removing old or damaged wood, directing its desired form, insuring proper blooming potential, and maximum opportunity to perform.

Old woody plants: removes sites where pests and diseases may attack, removes unsafe limbs, and maintains a clean appearance.

Specialty pruning: Roses, lilacs, fruit trees, as well as Spring bloomers and Summer bloomers, all require timely application of the knife.
Pesticides, Herbicides, Fungicides

IPM (Integrated Pest Management), as defined by the NJDEP, is a "sustainable approach to managing pests". It involves the appropriate response to the levels of damage; monitoring for problems; lower levels of chemical controls; environmental optimization; and education regarding the best strategies.

Organic methods are available to clients who wish for a total avoidance of chemical applications. However, IPM provides a reduced need for use of "blanket" controls, encourages the least disruption to beneficial insects, and reduces the risk of accidental contact with potentially harmful products. In the hands of a licensed pesticide applicator, chemical solutions are carefully applied and properly disposed of.
